1852 – 2012: EppsteinFOILS celebrates 160th anniversary

1852 our company was founded as a lead drawing plant by Conrad Sachs in Eppstein.

Since these early beginnings and now and again eventful history, the company (since 2008 under the name EppsteinFOILS) is operating successfully at this location.

Since its founding the company has consistently expanded its position as a specialist for highly refined foils. Not only with entrepreneurial farsightedness, but also with flexibility it was possible to adapt changing customer requirements. Now EppsteinFOILS is able to look back to a successful 160 year tradition.

International orientation since 1873

The first international orientation of EppsteinFOILS was a long time ago: As far back as 1873, the company participated in the first World's Fair held in Vienna. Further appearances followed (e.g. 1883 in Paris and 1893 in Chicago). This early international orientation was imprinting for EppsteinFOILS – today, we still serve 80% customers abroad.

With the addition „Stanniolfabrik“, which is derived from the Latin word stannum = tin and which refers to the importance of that metal for our production, the company operated from 1902 until 2008.
