Residents from the immediate neighbourhood around the company got to know about production, safety at work and environmental protection.

For the first time since 2002 (that occasion was the company's 150th anniversary) residents were able to gain a picture of the inner workings of the company. The idea arose in connection with the final rejection by the Eppstein municipal authorities of the company's relocation plans at the end of last year. EppsteinFOILS is now remaining at its current production site.

This was a positive and welcome opportunity to inform residents and their families from the surrounding area about levels of production, efforts to ensure safety at work, and environmental protection. A total of 15 residents took up the invitation.

In the course of an in-depth tour around the factory the whole production area was presented and explained. This was followed by a short talk which provided information on working hours and emissions, and also on preventive measures against accidents on the shop-floor - topics which had never previously been presented in this way. The visit concluded with a small buffet, which was the occasion for management board members, production managers and employee representatives to respond to the guests in a question-and-answer session.

The information event met with a positive response from participants generally, and a repeat occasion is planned in one or two years' time.
